Sorry to be a detractor but this is the view of an MS MVP on Windows security

QuoteI know it is only a BETA so far but the reports of very serious security risks are tremendous

the browser is based on webkit 3.51 which is  a very outdated apple safari browser with known exploitable security holes & they have been found & POC exploits posted on chrome already

My advice is to stay Well clear of it for now unless you are a website designer wanting to see how it displays your sites & then be careful

It is definitely NOT ready for a full public release yet

In order for it to keep up with Firefox it needs to be the following:

  • Highly Customizable(Themes, Icons, Layout, etc.)
  • Free Add-ons(Web Dev Toolbar, Colorzilla, etc.)
  • and to be lighter on the source code to run faster
Right now it's still in beta stages so I don't use it right now.  I have it but that was for Beta Testing purposes only.

Just installed this to test. Anybody else tried Google Chrome?

Thoughts/Opinions?

If you haven't tried it, feel free to do so here:
http://tools.google.com/chrome/

So far it looks pretty slick, but I have only just installed it, so will reserve my opinion until I have had a chance to check it out for a week or two. I am attached to Firefox, tempting me to change will be a tall order.

I also posted this at my site for my members opinions.

Z ,
