Okay, I thought it was just one of my friends setting their security settings high or something, but... I am having people tell me stuff isn't there. Lo, it IS there, I looked and with multiple browsers. When I start asking questions and even get a screen capture, it turns out that the common thing I see is they're all using vista. >:( The people with vista seem to not been seeing stuff.

Whole blocks are missing. Is this on my end? Can I do anything for them? This is REALLY going to cut down my visitors and ad revenue. No wonder my ads are off and way down. Help. Any ideas? I did a search for vista-related problems here and didn't see anything.
Thanks, Marsh :tickedoff:

Ken.

Marsh could you Please read and follow the Posting Guidelines so we can get a better idea of what we are looking at.

The first thought that comes to mind is permissions, you may need to set each blocks permissions for the member groups that are not seeing the blocks.

In what way did I not follow them? They are a bit complicated. and I DID search first. No, I am pretty sure that I have the permissions set right, but will check them again.

It's a TP issue, I think, as they're not seeing articles I have there. They both see the banner and left and right blocks, but not the article... Both are global mods and both have eyil, icky Vista. One is using IE7, the other Firefox...

The website is my reenactor.Net and it's in both the "Frontier Period" section and the "Civil War" And both seem to be able to see the stuff in the Article Manager, but not in preview or live?! It's hard to look at more with them as I don't live near either and it's on the phone or over e-mail.

Anyway, it's disturbing... if it's vista, I'm in trouble, if it's just a setting, I can fix it. Will check permissions again.

Oh, saw this:

Ken.

I've never heard of an operating system (Vista) causing issues like you describe... someone else may have of course.

OK, first we need to sort out exactly what they are seeing, or not seeing because in your first post it sounds like they can't see some of your blocks but in your last post you speak of them not seeing articles.

btw... the posting guidelines call for details about your setup:

Just saw the thing about the details. It took me awhile to format and list the mods. I know, I know. A lot of mods, and not done yet, but some of these will go as I don't like them/use them. I need the functionality they provide. Anyway, sorry I missed the bit about the details.

P.S. I thought maybe some security setting in vista???

There are security settings in Vista, but it's much more likely we are talking about browser settings, for example IE7 tends to have some issues according to some users... that's why I use FF3.  ;)

EDIT: It's past my bed time so I'm off for now, if no one has a chance to help you resolve this by tomorrow morning I'll check back in with you.

I use FF3 too, as does one of the global mods. I thought for SURE he was using IE. I don't know. If you go to my page here, what do you see? There should be a long article of links to website of Civil War Union Reenacting Units.

So,you see my dilemma... if those two--and they're like a LOT of reenactors -- not technically proficient, I'm in trouble. I'm hoping it's something on MY end. :-0 Go to bed, you're up past your bed time. I'll be back on tomorrow. I drive a truck and MY back's screaming...
