The "tportal_version" function is ONLY called from index.template.php in default theme or other TP themes. Just check that file and you should be fine.

Although IchBin's method would create less hassle though.

It depends on the changes made when you edited the files. When mods install they are looking for an exact piece of code. Right down to line breaks, empty spaces, and characters. You may see a failure in the install process if you don't have perfect files. Give it a shot! It doesn't hurt to try things, and then ask if you have a backup of your stuff.

Ok here is the following erros when I said apply.

/index.php                                                     Test failed
./Themes/default/index.template.php     Test failed
./Themes/babylon/index.template.php   File not found - I never had the babylon theme
./Themes/default/Help.template.php      Test failed
./Sources/Admin.php                                 Test failed

All the other files tested fine!

What now?

Well you have two options. Add the code to those files manually after continuing with the installation, OR replace those files with new files from the SMF downloads package and then try the package install again. Doing it the latter way will remove any mods installed to those files when you replace them.

What I did with the files that test failed was replaced them with fresh ones from smf.  Thanks to SMoky she was a life saver today!!!!
