I'm running SMF 1.1.5 stock with no mods. I am using the "blue"  SMF Default Theme. Everything works perfect.

I want to install the Tiny Portal "blue" Default Theme to compliment it.

Can you describe and or link to what download I need to download to make it happen?

Rookie question: When you first install it does it change the pre-existing board?

If so can it be installed in Maintenance Mode?

Any other heads up advice before installing other than the usual backup your files etc?

Thanks gang!

Ken.

Hey boardgirls, welcome to TinyPortal.

Here are some links where you can read up so that you can help us help you.  :coolsmiley:
Please read the Posting Guidelines
How do I Install TinyPortal?

As for your questions:
TP is a 'Mod' for SMF and is installed through the SMF Package Manager.
Look at the top of this page and you should see a link for 'Files'.
TP doesn't change the current content of your forum, but it dose add a new 'front' page plus it gives you the ability to add lots of other pages.
It is generally recommended that Packages be installed after you do a backup of your forum and place it in the maintenance mode, but it should still work if you don't do so.

A Heads Up???... read the Docs section.  ;)

I must be missing something or I'm totally lost. I understand how it works, I've checked all of that out. What do I download thats compatible for smf 1.1.5 that has the blue default theme?

;D You don't have to download anything else. All Tiny Portal does is add extra functions to the basic SMF software. IOW, It'll add the extra functionality to the blue default theme all by itself. All you have to do is push the button and crack a beer.

As long as your server settings show the language as English ( not English UTF-8, which is what it might show if you installed using Fantastico) you shouldn't have any problems.

ETA: I should add that TP will also install to the Babylon theme if you also wish to run that, but it wont work with the Classic theme if you are using TP 0.983.

However you can get a converted version of Classic, or if using TPv1.05 you can just add a forum button to Classic.

O.K. , I almost got it Thanks ... But what do I download in this sea of downloads is my question?

That's the link for the TinyPortal package... don't worry about any of the others until you have TP installed and working correctly.
And, give yourself a little time to read up on and understand what TP gives you and adds to your site.
