Ultimate shoutbox with TP and other stuff.

Is it possible to use the US with TP in a side bar. I like the idea that members can hide the US if they find the scrolling annoying.

Also, I have a table that I'd like to display in the side bar, but again, being able to hide it with the shoutbox would be useful.

Can I do all this with TP?

I suppose that I will try out TPs shoutbox though. Is it the case that it has auto-scolling built in now? - And does it scroll correctly across browsers (US jumps at the end of the scroll in FF and Opera).

Tp v.086 Has a scrolling option, with variable speeds for the shoutbox, and it works fine for me.
I belive all side bar blocks are now collapsable, so if you can insert your table, it should work.

I guess that I'd just have the one, top, collapse option, so those with low res monitors can get the benefit of the whole screen, which is the other slight downside with having a sidebar. The other option was to have second theme, but I prefer the idea of an on-off switch.

Might also add that using Ultimate Shoutbox is as easy as creating a phpblock and simply add smfshout(); into it. You then can hide it as other blocks.

Well, from what I've gathered, your shoutbox is as functional, and hopefully big-free (the jump at the end of the autoscroll in FF and Opera with US).

I do have one other question: can I SSI these blocks to my web pages?

Oh, I do have yet one more question, that maybe you cah help with: any SSI'd content with SMF breaks the whole destination page if the forum breaks, is still the case when using TP (assuming I can SSI content).

It looks like this complicated mod is maturing nicely.

No, it won't "jump"..it will scroll naturally.

TP is not included in SSI..so, no, you can't use SSi to get them on other parts of your site. that would anser your third question too i think...

But..how you thought about just using "articles" as pages for your site? In 0.86 you can turn off almost everything, leaving a blank page except for copyright down below. You can use either PHP article or normal HTML article, giving you much freedom in what you need. Heck, you can even call ssi functions like you do now, but you don't need to include ssi.php at all. (use php article for this though.)

It works good, I use to use it on my TP
