Then your TP is not installed. Check in your package manager to see if it truely is. You may want to uninstall/reinstall if it is.  Please only post in this thread if you have problems with install. If you have questions about TP features you may want to search or ask another questions in your own thread.

Okay... I've CHMOD'd every file in my forum directory (including the directory itself) to 777.  I'm still getting the same error.

I have no idea if my server is running on PHP Safe Mode.  How do I check that?

The package manager working and TP 0.86 is instaled. I wil try an manual insterlation

another question:
the homepage shows this:

Admin
This block should be visible for admins only - no membergroups are set to be allowed to view it. As default new blocks will have all membergroups and guests checked.

how do i remove that?
is nothing else supposed to be in that admin block ?

Put this in a php file.

Open it from your site in your browser and look for a line that says something about safe mode.

As Ichbin said, please uninstall it first. Then delete the package. Then install teh latest version.
