I am working with SMF 1.1.5 and working on a test site, that way I can remove all the errors from my site.

When I go to do a test install of both TP beta and TP 98 I get the following error.

QuoteExecute Modification     ./Themes/default/index.template.php     Test failed
So I copied over the Index.template.php from the install file, when I do that I don't get an error.

BUT I still get the same problem with TP 1.05 Beta, and with TP 98 I don't get any blocks or anything. It's just the forum with no front page....

With 9.8 I get the following errors

Quote
8: Undefined index: rss
File: /home/akcommunity/public_html/Sources/TPmodules.php
Line: 1244

8: Undefined index: color
File: /home/akcommunity/public_html/Themes/default/TPBlocks.template.php(52) : eval()'d code
Line: 468

8: unserialize() [<a href='function.unserialize'>function.unserialize</a>]: Error at offset 65533 of 65534 bytes
File: /home/akcommunity/public_html/Sources/BoardIndex.php
Line: 459

With 1.052 beta I get these errors

And attached is an image of what my screen looks like in the acricles and categories tab when I go to post a new article.

I have decided to stick with the beta, as it seems to give me less issues.

I have this cross posted at SMF http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=244258.msg1582413#msg1582413 because I was having some SMF errors as well, that they helped me fix, and then they pointed me in this direction for the TP errors.

A bit early for me to sort this out  :2funny:   but you have TP V098 ? installed and want to keep that ?

http://docs.tinyportal.co.uk/index.php?topic=139

Check your SMF files ( offcourse with your forum set to all defaults as SMF Core theme and English language ) and see so the TP code got added to them correctly during the install.

Also, reupload all the TP files manually through FTP and make sure they overwrite the ones allready on the server.

TinyPortal v1.0.5 beta 1 Is what I am running and want to keep, as it seems to be having the least issues.

For your editor issue:
http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?action=bugtracker;sa=bug318

I did this but Now it will only show me either articles or forum posts. When I click the both button "Forum-posts and articles - sorted on date"  to show both on the front page, it will only show the forum posts.

Everything is set to use the default smf theme...thats the one I use anyway, cause it seems to be a nice theme for my site. LOL.

And re-uploading them via ftp didn't seem to help.

So issue with typing up the articel resolved....isue with it being seen...still a problem...

apears to be my new error of choice. LOL.

TP V1.0.5 beta have the  MOST issues as it's in a very early beta release stage.

However the errors you post have been added to the bug tracker and also have several posts in the forum allready.

Try and search for the error by using the very error string you get and you will see the other posts and what they have lead to.

onicat

I have searched the other posts, with no luck.
But here is something that might help some one give me more information as to how to resolve this.

When I did the clean install of SMF and then TP. I got no errors. I uploaded the files (gallery, ect) to the test site. No errors. Downloaded and installed all the mods I had before, with no errors. But once I added the Database. I started to get the errors.

Any way. I am still having the darnest luck with this issue.

onicat

mmm I take it I am SOL. LOL.

Bleh forgive my frustration here. But I have been banging my head against this for weeks now.

QuoteBut once I added the Database. I started to get the errors.

How could you have SMF, TP and other mods without the database?

If it were me, I would uninstall the whole kit and kaboodle from my test site. Then I would install SMF from scratch and test it out. Then I would install TP -- either version (although I personally prefer .98) -- and test it out. Then I would install the other mods I want to include, one at a time, each time testing out the features of the mod and checking the error log.

By doing each step one at a time, and testing it out fully before going on, if you start to have errors at some point, you will be in a much better position to know where the errors are coming from.

onicat

This is how I did the test setup
1st step installed SMF checked for errors - clean
2nd step installed TP beta checked for errors - clean
3rd step installed SMF mods one at a time checking for errors - clean
4th step uploaded back files of the origional site. - clean of errors
5th step uploaded Database of origional site - ZING errors.

Is were I posted my origional thoughts on this, and was eventually guided here.

Quote5th step uploaded Database of origional site - ZING errors.
Are the all the tables and fields in the empty database exactly the same as the tables and fields in the new database? Did you, for example, have the same version of TP installed on your original site as you have in your test site? If not, then you're going to have problems.

What do you have installed on your original site and what are you installing on the test site?
