I noticed that you guys have not went to 1.1.5 yet and I also have three forums that i need to upgrade to 1.1.5. Is there a reason your holding off or just lazy like me? I only have one question and maybe I should be asking this at SMF but I do not like that site for personal reasons. Do I have to uninstall all three TP's, upgrade, then re-install the TP's?

IchBin

If all you are doing is upgrading to 1.1.5 from 1.1.4, you don't need to do anything to TP as long as you upgrade by clicking the link in your admin panel. If you decide to upload the package from SMF to update, then you will need to reinstall TP.

TP V098 works just as well in 1.1.5 as it does in 1.1.4.
Lazy is definatly the wrong word to use, almost got me upset at first case this sis done on free time and more or less by one man with family, children and a full time job, so the wording i would use would be, NO TIME to upgrade.
And also as the developer are aiming for SMF 2 i think he will hold the time he have lest on his hands to go directly to SMF2 when he find the time to upgrade,.

I just now noticed that I placed this in the Themes > General thread, sorry about that, I guess you can move it. Most people do get offended for the simplest of things and misunderstandings. Relax, I did not mean to provoke hostility from you. It was nothing more than a friendly, joking type of reference and regardless of what excuses you make, we are all guilty of it, including myself. I too run a one man hosting show and you probably would like us all to think that he does all this out of the goodness of his heart but he does have advertising, and templates that he sells so it does have monetary motivation.

Your reply of saying that you almost got mad because of a jokingly way I posted something, means that you must have something else going on in your life that is pi$$ing you off. Everyone appreciates the work that each one of you do here but please don't try to make out like your doing us all a favor. I love the portal but there are other forum programs with other portals and they make money off theirs the same way that you all make money here and I thank each of you for your work here, even you answers here in the forum.

You could have just answered, now get your lazy a$$ to work upgrading. LOL.

Some of the files the package manager needs to modify are not writable. This needs to be changed by logging into FTP and using it to chmod or create the files and folders. Your FTP information may be temporarily cached for proper operation of the package manager.

JPDeni

This is an SMF question, not a TP question.

Quotelogging into FTP and using it to chmod or create the files and folders

Is the normal way to do this, open an upgrade package to see what files are edited or uploaded and chmod to writeable then put them back after I'm done?

This is an SMF question, not a TP question.

Actually it concerns both!

JPDeni

No. It does not. You are upgrading SMF. TinyPortal is not being affected at all by the upgrade. IchBin told you that in the second post in this topic. That is the only response that is appropriate for you to receive here. Go to the SMF forum with your question.
