Disabeling "Display userinfo/news at top" (TP 1.0.5)

This is a fresh install of SMF.  I installed TP using the directions here.  There are no other mods installed.

I want to disable the userinfo/news at the top on the front page only.   I went to admin>Settings and FrontPage, and unchecked "Display userinfo/news at top" and saved, but it has no effect.  When I go to my front page, the userinfo/news is still there.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

I did...as I always do, search before posting.   However, I must have overlooked the topic that contained the answer because I did find it this time.  :laugh:
