Hello, I have the Mephisto theme installed on smf 1.1.4 and TP v0.9.8, but it is giving me a lot of problems when trying to install a few mods. for one, the theme has no display.template and I need that to manually edit some of the mods.

I have even tried to manually edit a few simple mods and still nothing appears, nothing changed.
This is about my fourth commercial  theme I have used and all gave me problems. So far I like this theme and I would like to work with it.

Could some one tell me what I am doing wrong here. I use this http://sleepycode.com/PackageParser/index.php to help me install the mods manually. The other package parser only goes up to smf 1.1.3.. Right now I am trying another simple manual installation of the awards mods and I need the display.template to continue or is there away to work around this? example placing the code in the display.template for the default theme?

If any one can help me with this also, tThe TP has a few mods that came with it: Download, link, teampage, and gallery manager but only the download manager is available. when I enable the rest and try to go to them it said not implemented?

Thanks again for your help :)

A lot of edits will need to be made to the index.template.php file for the theme that you are using.

You can get a copy of  >> WinMerge << for free and you can compare the index.template.php file of both the Default theme and Mephisto and copy across the parts of the mods that are missing from the Mephisto theme.

Make sure you keep an original copy of both index.template.php files, because things do go wrong.

Thanks very much for your help, I will try to work on it

I purchased the members club package for premium themes, but should I have so much trouble since these are premium themes? They looks good but if they don't work then what is the sense of paying for themes ( premium) if they are not compatible with most mods and they are not fully functional. So does this mean that after purchase of a theme you have to edit the whole or part of it again. Please any help thanks.

And 1 more thing, the modules that came with TP, I am only able to access one and that is the downloads the others say not implemented. I tried installing two different gallery mods but no change within the TP module.

Any help here please I am a little lost

I can assure you they work just fine when you have a good setup.
IF you have errors and issues in the default theme it wont matter what theme you install as they dont fix the errors you have.

When you have sorted the errors so you have a clean error log when using the DEFAULT SMF CORE theme, you will have the same clean error log with any other theme you install from the theme club.

I suggest you go through everything you have installed to your forum, and this time only with the default core theme and default language, when everything works there, you will not have any issues with any theme from the theme club.
Offcourse you must add the mods manually to your other themes as they only installs to the default Core, The theme club themes only support the most common mods like galley, googlebot, TP, arcade. so if you issues runs from you not adding your custom mods properly to the themes in use, it's not theme issues bbut missing code for your other content in them, and we dont provide that code in any theme we have.

And NOT implemented means just thatm they are not there in the code yes, just dummy placeholders for future addons to come.

Oh ok I see. Thank you

I just upgrade smf to 1.1.5 and TP to 1.0.5, every thing looks and runs clean so far. Now I got a few mods to work and the others I will take my time and manually edit the theme.

Since the theme above needs much more work can any one advice my on which theme might be better to work with? I am currently using Novelty by bloc ( very nice them and I would like to keep it)

so any advice on this theme? is it a good theme to work with.

It all depends on you and your skill set. For me I would recommend just about any of Blocs themes. It depends on a lot of things though. What mods, what files the touch.. etc.

xPreatorianx

a good theme is alien nation that might be compatible.

Well sad to say I have none but I am trying my best to develop some skills.

Yeah they are really nice themes but for the more advance user since I am TP challenge lol.
I will check out the alien nation theme.

Thank you guys for your comments.
