Been poking around in the TP options and can't seem to find a way to hide the panels when viewing a thread. I'm using SMF 1.1.4 currently.

EDIT: After creating this thread, it's not an option.

Any help on this would be awesome, even if theme/file modification is necessary.

I want it to show on the home page and on the forum index, but not while viewing a thread.

Open TPortal.php and find:
if($context['TPortal']['hidebars_profile']=='1' && $context['TPortal']['action']=='profile')
tp_hidebars('all');
elseif($context['TPortal']['hidebars_pm']=='1' && $context['TPortal']['action']=='pm')
tp_hidebars('all');
elseif($context['TPortal']['hidebars_memberlist']=='1' && $context['TPortal']['action']=='mlist')
tp_hidebars('all');[/size]

Put the other code I have you right after that.

if (isset($_GET['topic']))
tp_hidebars('all');

Omala, please take a look at the posting guide sticky for this board and add the info called for there so that we may be better able to help with your issue.

Yeah, apologies. Updated first post.

IchBin

You can't hide the panels while in topics. Not an option.

Omala

I understand it's not an option. If file modification is necessary I'd be willing to do it. I just don't fully understand how TP adds it's panels to the forums in SMF and if there is a different file for forum index and thread viewing then modifying those files so one sees blocks, while the other doesn't.

Anyone have an answer for this or should I go to the SMF forums to ask?

IchBin

If this doesn't work, I'm not sure where to set it. But put this in the index.template.php inside the template_init() function towards the top.
if (isset($_GET['topic']))
    tp_hidebars();

Omala

Omala

That had no effect on it. Did it work for you? Is it possible that it's a theme issue?

G6Cad

Please dont call it issues when it's not even a feature to start with  ;)

IchBin

Its not a theme issue. The problem is that the tp_hidebar function isn't being called soon enough. Thats why I said I would know where to put it to make it work right away.
