Kids Need to Read Foundation

Ok so one thing you guys will come to know about me (once I start posting here more!).. I'm a Firefly fan.  Firefly is/was a short-lived sci-fi series on Fox around 2002, that was catapulted into a cult phenomenon by fans even though it didn't even have a complete season.  It was made into a feature film called Serenity (awesome movie, check it out!) in 2005.  Anyway, it had great ensemble cast headed by Nathan Fillion, who brings me to my point of this post.

I just stumbled upon this in my web surfings.  It is a foundation called Kids Need to Read, founded by Nathan Fillion and his friend PJ Haarsma.  I've been wandering around their site and it's a really great group of folks doing great things for kids.  They raise money to help provide books (fantasy books even!) for libraries.  You can see their official booklist here.  Great stuff!

I figured I'd post this around on the various communities I'm a part of to do my part in spreading the word.  I chose to post here at Tinyportal because I use SMF/Tinyportal on nearly all of the sites I admin/host, including one for Nathan Fillion fans (work in progress).  I do hope it is alright to bring this great organization to the attention of all the wonderful people of this community.

Take a look if you want, donate if you can, and spread the word if you have time.  Also, if you know a library that might need help, point them to that site or submit them yourself.

If the moderators here don't have a problem with it, I'd like to be able to update this thread with information about KNTR's various charity auctions and other news.

HM, this starts to look like some adverticment more then something you want to show from a link.
A remider to this site rules is that we don not allowe advertisement on this forum.
I rahter see you shorten your posts a bit and just say what a simple link will show when clicked on.

Hmm... Ok then, I removed my last post.  It was never meant as an "advertisement" as we're non-profit.  It was just trying to spread the word.  I'll stick to just links from now on.

No, it's not ok, we have a showcase board for this kind of posting, but it's only for SMF and TP sites.
Even if this is the chit chat section, you are still advertising the site in question, and it have nothing at all to do with TP or SMF.
The message the site want to bring out is great, but you cannot advertise for it on this site.

Remove the posts and as said before, keep a link in the first post and tell what the site is about, then discussions about it is ok, but you keep on advert anything that goes around like a news board. This is not a news board nor an advert board.
