ahmmm

im just wondering which version of SMF and TP are suitable for newbies...

which combo is best and easy to set up for us newbies without those complicated things to be done

i installed SMF 1.1.4 and TP V098 but it crashes for a newbie i still dont know what to do.. any suggestions?

Zetan

For a new user, I would recommend SMF 1.1.4 and TP 0.9.8, simply because those versions work together and TP 1.0.5 is still in early Beta with some known bugs.

You never said why it crashes, what happens?.. SMF 1.1.4 and TP 0.9.8 work together without problem on a fresh install. Problems do arise with server configuration, user error and sometimes a language problem which is usually simple to fix.

after isntalling both smf 1.1.4 and tp 098 i did good but the TP themes I installed are not working... i remember doing the Mod instructions but after replacing and puting the codes... i get "Parse errors" and then... i tried to over write the php files which i modify to start all over again but then i got Database problems hehehe this was cool for a beginner at least i have to experience the headaches of not being careful if i did am careless...

mabe ill start all over...

i really really really wanted a SMF TP site of my own heheh ill not stop until i manage to run one :)

Can you install any themes before installing TP? Not that I recommend doing that, but if you can't, then you'll have to ask at SMF as the theme system is part of SMF.
