I'm new here.  I was asking at SMF Forums if there was a mod that would be able to create a submission page that displayed people's created articles/guides.  Like if a person created a document and submitted it to a category, it would be displayed on the submissions page for everyone to see.  And someone replied to my post saying to go for TinyPortal.  What is TinyPortal?  Heard of it but never knew what it was about.

Hej and welcome.

What is tinyportal, the best way to describe it is to say, take a look around this site.
Everything you see except the forum part is tinyportal.
The blocks on the left hand, the frontpage, the downloadsection, the articles ( docs in the menu ) etc etc.
Sort to speak, everything BUT the forum itself on this site is tinyportal :)

And the best thing is, you download it, and install it like any other mod ( tp is a mod for SMF ) and you can start build your own site with a lot of new features.

I have mkPortal installed as my CMS and SMF is bridged to it.  Am I still able to install TP?

Dont really know, have never used MK portal. but i think you have to remove the MK compleatly to use TP though.
Have to leave that question to some one that knows for sure, but i think it will mess things up if you dont remove MK before you install TP

MKPortal is a stand-alone software which you have bridged to SMF, whereas TP is a mod for SMF which modifies SMF itself. So it shouldn't be a problem running them side-by-side, although it may look a bit weird to run those 2 side-by-side.
