Okay, dumb question here.. I have a lot of mods on my site, several no longer have the [ Uninstall ] link.
When I go to:

Installed Packages > 1.     TinyPortal     0.983     [ Uninstall ]

I have this error returned:

Quote
An Error Has Occurred!
Unable to find package file!

The zip file is in /packages

Anybody have any idea how to uninstall this, or do I need to do a manual install?
lol, not done a manual install before..

G6Cad

Yep, uninstall it is the manuall way.
Really nothing to it ZTN, instead of ADD the code to the files, you remove them, so kind of reverse job with help of the modinstruction.

I know you have a lot of mods, even custom changed code everywhere, so if you dont want to just replace all the SMF files with new ones and start add the ods back in again, the manual way is rhe only solution.

Come to think about it, how is your permissions set to the file in the packages folder ? and is it the same file as you have installed ?   It usually work to just uppload the same package to the packages folder for the uninstall to show, so might be worth a try to check what version of TP you have installed and what version you have in your packages folder

Zetan

Bah.. lol, had to happen sooner or later. I think though, I'm going to have to wait a bit until the bugs are worked out.

Do we have a manual install guide for TP 1 yet?

Thanks Carina x

G6Cad

Yes, i have made it a few days ago and it's in the doc section, it's not so much work to change the code.
If you want help, shoot me a PM when you want to have it done and i will do it for you  :-*

Not the first time i install TP on your site

Actually, did you re-install it before? I recall having a bazillion errors in the logs  :-*

G6Cad

Yes, i manually installed it for you back when TP V098 were released

Zetan

Ahh.. thanks for that, again   ;) Save doing it twice/thrice.. I'll wait a while, as far as I can tell, theres a few bugs at the mo.

G6Cad

I think that is you install TP now, you will not have to change any code to the SMF files, so when it's installed, it will only be a matter of replacing the TP files and perhaps make updates to the database, but the code in the SMF files usually stands as is :)

IchBin

ZTN, did you update SMF and not update the TP package? If you didn't update the TP package it won't know how to uninstall on SMF 1.1.4. If you just upload the package again to your packages folder and replace the old one an uninstall link should appear.

Zetan

I think I did Brad, probably updated to SMF 1.1.4 via the admin panel. Would that make a difference?
