Can I do this with TinyPortal?

Hi!
I have been using SMF forums for about 2 years now and really like it and I was pointed in TP's direction to allow me to have a CMS built around the forum.
My question is can I do everything I want to do with TP?

I have attached a new design I want to roll out in the next couple of months but wont start until I have found a CMS which can do the job.

Im wanting to be able to add pages when I need to, update pages within the site and have the forum as another section to the website rather than the entire website look like a forum with extra pages.

Is it possible to have multiple news items displayed in one block with a scroll bar rather than individual blocks?

I don't mind a bit of hard work to build my own template but if what I am looking for is outwith TPs abilities then I will look else where or build my own CMS.

To your questions the answer is more OR less yes, however, you cannot have the forum in one dir and the portal system in another. They are matched to be on the same location and the TP is depending on the SMF files to work.

BUT, you have the frontpage where you can add articles block with links to pages of your own created pages with content through an advanced article system. All done in the administration of SMF admin.

The best way to know is to creat  a testforum, and on that install TP an explore what you can do with it.
But more or less everything you seek is there, except that you will have to install TP to the same dir as you have your forum installed to.

This entire site is only SMF with the same version of TP you will have to.
So explore some of this site and lok around.

If you know or can learn php, you can do just about anything you want with TP. There are a lot of built-in features which are great, but the true flexibility is in the ability to write php articles. You can pull anything from the forum's database and display it in just about any way that you can possibly imagine. Or, you can create your own tables that you can populate with your own data and then display it.

Of course, there's also the html articles if you have static information to display, rather than dynamic.

Another good thing to do is take a look at some of the TP members sites and you can easily do that for those that have their site linked in their sig or member info.

ok thanks everyone. I will dig around a bit more and see if TP is going to fit the bill, I think my first problem will be I will need to move my forum out of the sub directory its currently in.

or simply make a redirect file from the www root folder to point to the forum location, that way you have the www point directly to the forum and tp
