My shoutbox has irritating scrollbars that generate on the bottom because it is too wide, however when I adjust the width to accomodate it, it still shows the scrollbar and it seems to change along with the width. Is there a way I can get the shoutbox to not have a bottom scrollbar?

For me your shout box only shows the scroll bar while using IE8, in FireFox it looks OK.

Did you try setting the width to 100%? On my test forum the width works much better using the "%' instead of the "px" setting.

Sorry for sounding stupid, but the width on what? The width on the panel settings for the shoutbox?

Looked at your site and saw that you are running TinyPortal v1.0.5 beta 1, so...

Do this:
Admin>TinyPortal>TPAdvShout>Settings>AdvShoutbox Width:> ...and change that from "px" to "%" and see if that will fix your issue. ( Mine is set at 100% and works OK)

Lots of other good stuff in there as well so take some time to explore.

Nope I still have that bar. Do I need to select compact or expanded along with that?

I'm having the same problem - horizontal scroll bar for IE because the text doesn't wrap properly.  No problem in Firefox.  I've got my advshoutbox width set to 100%.  Maybe there's a CSS padding tag that can be tweaked.

Thanks for a great program, folks.  I haven't even started delving into the great new features.

If that's a reply to me, I'd like for you to re-read my post and see that I followed those instructions to the letter.  It's a bug in IE.

a bug in ie? the scroll bar is there, in both firefox and ie, possibly more, but if you would like, head over to browsershots.org and you can pick what browser you would like.

the reason for the scroll bar is so that the shouts wont take up more than the allotted space you set.

Link to your site? I don't have this problem in my IE7 here at work.
