I installed with no errors but I don't see anything that looks like it had changed.  Any ideas or am I just missing something stupid.  The "restart forums" link was confusing as it was just a link to the index.php page.

It would be really nice of you to help us help you by following the posting guidelines. Right now I don't have a clue about anything that you have done, or what versions you have etc. Link is in my sig or at the top of this board. Thanks.

salden

sorry...

SMF version: 1.1.4
TP version: 0.9.8.3
Theme name and version: default
Mods installed: default
Related Error messages: N/A

Basically, I installed SMF, then decided to convert it to UTF.  Then I installed TP and got an error due to there not being a temp directory in packages so I created it and the install was successful.  I see no change from the original SMF install though and I don't have a TP section in the admin left nav.   I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no change.  There are no errors that I can see.

Well, if the package installation doesn't work for you after what you just tried I would have to suggest that you do the manual installation. Instructions are in our Docs board for a manual installation.

G6Cad

Not quite ;)

TP does not hold any utf8 language files in the install package, all the utf8 language packages ( if they are made for the language used) have to be uploaded and added manually to the themes/default/language folder.

Set the forum back to use the default english in your admin/configuration/settings and you will see that everything is there and working as it should.

salden

I don't have any language settings besides english to choose from.

G6Cad

Yes, set it to English in your settings and set the forum to use Default Core

IchBin

What does the language setting have to do with it not installing G6?

G6Cad

If SMF forum installed with UTF8 the TP language strings will not show as the forum calls from the utf8 files. TP only have regular english files in the package, the utf8 files needs to be added manually.

Throught you read ZTNs sticky topic  :2funny:  :2funny:

In this case, There is nothing showing, in the language case the things do show up(The Blocks etc).
