Is there a way to get the same text editor used for forum posting to format my articles? Right now I just get one big block of text without even recognizing my line breaks.

Thanks!

Ken.

Do you have your WYSIWYG editors turned off?

Check in:
Admin>Tiny Portal>Settings... and see if they are both off, if so try turning one on.

Yes, neither FCKeditor nor WhizzyWig worked.

No its not possible without doing a HUGE modification to TinyPortal, and possibly SMF. If you want to format your text and the wysiwig editors aren't working for you, I would highly suggest that you learn some basic HTML formatting so you can learn to format the stuff the way you would like it.

Im pretty strong in html\css\php\sql\etc. Im not the end user of the site though... just trying to get something super simple setup for a technophobe.

Is there something that might be preventing the editors from working?

A bazillion things could make the editor not work. Could be a server issue. Could be a mod conflict. Could be that your files didn't upload right. Could be that the internet gods don't like your website.. :P Start with making sure everything is working right. Make sure all your settings are right too. Each person in their profile can turn the editors off as well as in the TinyPortal settings.
