I had one of my guys submit a new article the other day and I started getting the errors described in this topic. Also the article on the frontpage wasn't using the frame from the theme as well as the "read more" link via the intro text wasn't linking to the full article.

I followed the instruction from this post and that fixed the errors in the log however it didn't fix the article on the front page.

Today I found out that if I have an article set to featured but not show on frontpage it caused the problems described above. If I set the article to featured and show on frontpage the undefined varibles went away in the log and the article rendered correctly.

Today I exported my database and built a duplicate site with a fresh install of SMF and only TP and with no other mods or modifications. The test site is still up if a TP person wants to verify the bug. The problem is easy to duplicate. Just PM me for more info.

SMF 1.1.4 / TP 0.9.8

My apologies is this is duplicate. After three days of searching I couldn't find anything remotely close besides the link posted above.

What type of article is it? Why would you set an article to featured and not have it show on the frontpage?

Well, normally you wouldn't. This was really done by mistake. Either way it produced errors in the log and failed to render the article correctly.

The article is very simple text/html.
