Ok, im not a noobie or anything when it comes to basic php coding, and i understand most of things. But this TinyPortal stuff isn't popping to me.

Here's the problem, i installed TinyPortal, no problems (besides the fact that it can't make its own nav button on top, which i can do). But im trying to make my site look like this basicly

http://www.tinyportalmedia.com/main/

But, i want Recent posts on right, with member info (Your avvy showing, posts, etc). Then news in middle, and navigation (maybe?) on the left, along with search and stats. But when i try to enable that on block manager. It doesn't do anything, so i went to put in on the "Front Page" and it showed, but not organized the way i want. Now, in the settings i saw

( disabled in Single Page option )

But how do i disable that?

Sorry if most of this is confusing to read, i am just frustrated is all.

Ken.

We need a little more info rrims...
When you say it can't make its own button, is that in the SMF Default theme or a custom theme? That is a BIG difference in what the issue may be.

All of the other things on your list can most likely be sorted out but the missing button is the important thing at this point.

A link to your site would be most helpful.

The missing button is not the problem, i can do that in 2 seconds (and im using a theme from here, Aurora). But i just don't understand how to customize the front page using the blocks. Like i stated above.

OK, first things first...

I hear you when you say you already know some coding, but that can sometimes get in the way.  ;)

Aurora is one of the newer themes by Bloc that has TP support built in and it must be turned on in order for the theme to work correctly with TP.

Do this first and then check on your other issues:
Set your forum to Aurora and then go:
Admin>Current Theme> place a check in the TP support box.

Do not turn on any of the other supports unless you actually have the mod already installed.

That seems to be helping so far. Im gonna do some more "fiddling" with this then, and if i have problems, ill be sure to mention them.

Thanks.

EDIT: 1 question, on top, it says "News, Custom, TP." I like the layout of News, but how do i set that as my TinyPortal layout and remove the links of the others?

IchBin

You can't set the custom page as your tinyportal layout. Those links are to custom pages that block has built into the theme so you can have your own if you'd like. If you like the layout, take the code and put it into an article for your frontpage or something. To remove the other links, go into your theme settings and remove them from the text box.

Ken.

Themes can be a little confusing to someone just starting up because we have different versions for some themes currently and you can get them mixed up or as in this case not turn on support for TP. It will be easier the next time because you will know what to look for.

As for questions... thats why we're here.  :)

Ok i removed the links, but now how do i get the code, where is it located?

Ken.

The pages are on your server in:

Ok, i got it worked out. But i have 2 more questions.

1. How can i find a nagivation block? Here's what i mean.

http://halo-union.com

See their navigation links on the left. I'v seen it done with a tinyportal before, but i forgot the site. So is there a way i can do that?

2. News, im still having some problems showing the news in the middle. I had an idea of duplicating a recent post block, and editing it to work with news, but im stuck right there.
