I've disabled guests from browsing the forum.  Under TPAdmin, I've selected the option for guests to see the information on the front page even if they can't browse the forum.  When I log out and try to go to the home page, I just get the SMF login screen.  Using RC2 and TinyPortal v0.8.4.  Am I missing something or is this a bug?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you have to allow them to see the board, but not allow them to read the forums.

I'm not quite sure that I understand the difference.  How do you let them see the board but not read the forums?

Hmm... he could always put an IF statement around the code that shows the Forum button that won't show it if they are a guest. That way they have to be logged in to even reach the forums without using a direct URL.. Just a suggestion..

hmmm.... I was under the impressions that you could make it so that they could see the board titles, just not enter the boards.... I may be wrong because I don't see that option.

There is some manual alterations you can make within SMF to do this.  I'll do some research on it.  I would have thought that with this option inside TinyPortal it should automatically work.  Is this a bug?

I'm glad I read this I have the same problem.  I have two articles that display on the main page and for which I have opened to guests but I too get the login screen and no articles displayed

There's nothing you can do unless you allow guests to view your forums without registering. Until Bloc makes this work with TP anyway.
