I've been using SMF 1.1.4 and just recently installed TP 0.9.8.

Is it possible to run TP on a separate db, than the one being used by SMF?

Smoky

nope, it has to go into the directory where you have installed you smf.  ;)

Thanks Smoky, that answers my question.

Directories have nothing to do with the database. Although your end assumption is correct, to be more specific TP uses SMF's settings to access the database. So, it cannot reside on a different database.
