Password Strength

Hi All,

I know I might be bashed for asking this question here since this is more of an SMF question than a TP question, but I would like to know the answer if anybody has it off the top of their head.  If the SMF site wasn't down I'd probably just go there and do the search.  Sorry people, please bear with me.

The choices for password strength are ...
Low: The password must be at least four characters long.
Medium: The password must be at least eight characters long, and can not be part of a users name or email address.
High: As for medium, except the password must also contain a mixture of upper and lower case letters, and at least one number.

If I currently have password strength set to "Low" and want to change it to "Medium", will members with a password that meets the criteria for low, but not medium, still be able to access the site?

The answer is yes, as the password only apply once during the registration and to verify them.

Do you mean that if they make a change to their profile that requires entering their password they will first have to change their password to be compatible with the higher strength?

Yes, if they forget their password for example and request a new one.. Then the new strength setting will apply.
