i decided to use this to host a few files for my members yet none of the custom membergroups(or guests for that matter - I checked that box too to test) I have can see it, only Admin, ungrouped members and Global Mods can. I went through each seperate folder and edits the groups to allow permission to each membergroup yet its still not working. I'm sure I'm overlooking something really simple here. could someone please give me a nudge in the right direction please on how I can fix this? thanks.

using SMF 1.1.4 with TP 0.98

Every category in your download manager has to be changed and the catboxes have to be checked for every membergroup you want the category to show up for.

yep, I did that. its still not showing for anyone but the mentioned above.

Well it have to be permission issues if all other membergroups besides your custom added ones can see every thing.
Check the permissions for your custom groups and make sure you have added them to see the downloadsection. And also the content inside the downloads manager /Admin/TinyPortal,Download manager/

nope, I'm not using post groups. I also don't see an option in the permissions in any of the groups to allow anyone to see the downloads section. all of the content in the section is set to be viewed by everyone except guests(I had guests set to view originally but it never showed so I removed the check from that box). I am completely stumped here.

not sure if this will help but one way I can get people in the groups to view it is if I set them like this:

Primary Usergroup - no primary membergroup and then select their actual membergroup in the additional membergroups secton. the only bad thing about doing it that way is that the people in the special groups are no longer shown as such.

That must be a bug I assume, it should not ONLY consider additional membergroups. :P

The easiest way around that - if it is a bug - is to simply set them as primary membergroups, and then the same group as secondary as well.
