Frontpage confusion . . .

Hi all,
I hate to admit defeat but I just seem to be going round in circles and pray there is a kind soul out there who will help ?!
I've read all the docs I can find and have managed to sort out my side blocks, however, changing the Frontpage has got me completely confused.
I've tried Visual Option A & B, I've tried to edit, have designed a superb page [modesty is not one of my strong points . . . ], have saved and then when I go Home nothing has changed ! Aaaaargh . . .
I am near to giving up after going through the whole Edit/Design/Save over 8 times now, please help ?

What have you tried to change? Did you add the articles? And then, did you set it to display articles on the frontpage? Please give us as many details as you can, as we have no idea what you have tried to put on the frontpage. Did you activate the articles you created? DO NOT edit the pre-made articles. Make sure you create new ones if you're trying to do that. There's a known problem with that.

Hi all,
Sorry not to have been more precise about what attempts I had made, it's hard to explain when your'e confused so please bear with me ?

Firstly, Visual Option A & B - Do I need to specify which one and if so how ?

Secondly, I went to the Article Manager, "Add Cat" tab and entered a new cat called "Admin".
I then went to the "Add" tab and made a short welcome message, selected the  "Activate/Show Frontpage" options and then "Save" to Admin cat.
When I return to the Home page there is nothing showing.

When I click on the "Submissions" tab all that is showing are Option A/Option B/Welcome as seperate articles. I have checked them to the green button but still no show.

I have read all the TPDocs but cannot find any reference to my problem, I'm sorry to burden you and being a forum owner myself appreciate how busy you are [and also how frustrating it is when you have to try and understand a complete idiot].

If you still cannot understand my problem I am sorry, I don't know any other way to explain myself.
