I used the search to fix a problem that i have. And in the results of that search. I get these answer about 80 percent of the time.
QuotePlease use the search, this has been covered hundreds of times.

I managed to fine one post when searching:
Search Results

If you went to the trouble of finding the help, you could at least post the link for people that are looking for the info.
Thank you

And why might that be? Unless you searched for the word "search", or because time and again people do not search. If we were to spend a few weeks, probably months, going through each and every topic and either delete the useless topics, or delete those posts, then you might have better results.
Maybe only read the topics that have a Topic Solved icon:

So, the morale is..? Search first. I will still tell you to search if the answer is there.

This is a known problem on many support forums.. do you have any suggestion of a workable solution?

digitalhawk

I did use the search and found no answer to my problem. There no right solution. But i think most people are looking for the right person they feel comfortable with the answers. I rather get the answers from a person that has the experince. I usally donate to the software developer if i like it and use it, so in thous regaurds, i want to be able to ask for support and not search for it.
Thank you for your quick reply.

That would be fine and dandy if we were paid for working here. But since we do this on our free time we expect people to work for their knowledge instead us handing everyone what they ask for on a silver platter. We have limited time to help people here, hence the reason you see us telling them to use the search.

So what are you searching for? What is the problem you are having? I want to search for it myself so I can see the replies like you have.

Zetan

And we do still offer support, every day.
This is a free community, now you have a problem with the search feature. And I can't agree more.
Searches, as I've said time and again, are saturated with the results you just found.

Do you know how many time we repeat the exact same answers?
Very few are new.. some are.. but mainly with the new members, like yourself.. we have answered it several times in several different ways.

I understand we all give our time on our boards.
Here a link to one of my searchs

I searched for the error you were having and the second link on this page gives you the answer. While I do see the "please use the search posts a lot" I still find the answers on the first page of results in the search.

The search I did

Pipped by IchBin  :)

And searching for the error message: index.template.php      Test failed

And none of those with a Topic Solved icon help?

We do want to help, which is why we are here.. but we also want people to help themselves a little so those useless results appear less often.

:)
