request for future version or mod

It would be great if people could write and submit their own articles without admin approval.  Yes, I am aware I can change permissions to "manage articles" but I don't want people to have access to changing or adding categories, or turning articles on or off.  I just want people to have a button to "write article" do it and then publish it instead of submit to administrator.

I have had an ungodly amount of porn on my site and I'm afraid that this will show up in featured articles if I just let everyone access the manage articles feature.  I am addressing the spam problem but still want the option to let others write and publish articles without my approval.

This would be wonderful to have.

However, tiny portal is so great I hate to even ask for anything else.  It is a pleasure to work on my site because of it.  thanks Bloc and all.

Texas Liberty Lady, your suggestion/request for an article mod sounds good, hopefully someone will take on the task for you.

At first I was not very up on your idea because my feeling was that members should have their articles approved before they could go public, but after giving it some thought it now seems good because they actually have the same liberty when they make a new Topic or post to an existing Topic. So, your controls would be the same as they are for a regular forum post in that you could do edits, deletes or whatever action seem correct for the situation.

Good suggestion IMHO.

Thanks so much Ken.  Appreciate your thumbs up on the idea.
