So What do you guys use for testing your codes?
I use localhost for devoleping and do final testing on my live forum(Privately)

Nokonium

I use a range of setups on my webspace. I'd like to set up my own server, maybe one day I will.

IchBin

wamp for localhost. I have my own server at work as well that I run my sites off. Thats where I do live testing.

mamp on mac os ... allways testing offline before going online ... ;)

Cool is the mamp a free program?  I have a mac os x and I really need one that can test the code before making it live.

Ah cool, this I must download! :)

Nice thing about wamp too, is that when you have an error in your template its a little more specific about where the actual error that most apache/php setups.

Is it meant purely for testing on a local machine or can you also use it for a live site?

IchBin

Well, you could use it for a live site. But by default the security is WIDE open on it for dev testing purposes. You'd have to go through and fix all of that before you could make it live. Unless you're crazy and don't care about security. ;)

lol, PASS!!!  :2funny:

But this is perfect for testing, I often have to load a fresh install of SMF and TP onto a sub-domain and I test that way, takes me about 30 mins to FTP a fresh site so I don't do that often.

This is awesome, will take seconds to do the same thing locally  :D
