As you all can understand i am new at forum developing, so i have 2 problems that i will describe now.

1. I have successfull install the tiny portal package at the default theme all the buttons (home,forum,help,search,etc..) is on their place, but when i am going to change a theme to another except of default i can find the forum button, there is if i write at the adress bar this "http://my domain/index.php?action=forum" i can see the forum section

2. The second problem is with my language, that is Greek-UTF8 i when i have install the tiny portal package at the first use i saw a welcome message telling that everything about the instalation is correct and also telling me that it has detect that my language is Greek-UTF8 so i have to download the language package and i am done. I have download the language i have install it at the right directory as the istalation txt file says. Do when i am trying to write a topic with greek language i take only this "?????????"

Sorry about the big post but i am new

Please help
Thanks in advance

Zetan

Hello, welcome to TinyPortal  :)

1. Please see the Docs section for adding buttons to themes.

2.

You've described what you have done, but I'm not sure what problem you are having as you haven't really described it.

Is you're forum actually running in UTF-8? Have you checked?

codewarior273

Thanks for fast respond.
When i am posting a new topic instead of the words that i had write there ar only question marks.
How can i check if i am running UTF-8?

Thanks

Zetan

This probably wont help you, but there are points in the first post to determine which character settings your forum is using and where to download the correct language packs.
If your forum is running in UTF-8, you need UTF-8 language packs.

My language pack is Greek-Utf8 i have check it in
* Admin >  Configuration > Server Settings > Default Forum Language..
Now what i can do to resolve the proble? Any ideas?

Zetan

Ok, lets try another way, I'm not entirely convinced.

Admin > Maintenance/Forum Maintenance > Convert HTML-entities to UTF-8 characters

Your impatience wont fix it any quicker, you may have a corrupt file, download it and check the file contents with a text editor. I still think you have the wrong version installed, or corrupt.

Ι have done it.
The same problem. The process was very fast, the bar was to 100% very fast. But the problem resists.
Also about the buttons i have read all the how to topic about adding buttons and i cannot find nothing to much the code for the buttons in the  index page even the start of the code.
Thanks
