I have a forum and I would like to add a splash page to it.

Hi, I was wondering how can I add a frontpage like a homepage, that not the forums like with news, or other stuff, or a splash page ?

th3zone has got one (I know it is PHPbb), is it possible to do the same with smf?

Absolutely m8, there are several ways to proceed actually. I'll list some ideas for ya.

Install TinyPortal and use Frontpage settings in such a way that shows what you want on a "splash page"

Use one of Bloc's or MY and soon im sure others themes that supports custom pages and create a custom page for your splash page.

Do a custom Article and link it through htaccess so that it shows what you want

Do a html page with whatever content you want using SSI functions than add the links to your site

There you go just a few ideas

You can do that with TinyPortal installed because TP adds a 'front' page to your forum any you can do a wide range of layout and design details for that page. There are also other ways to do it but for me TP is the best way.

I've instaled TP on my SMF.

How can I put a login box there?
