Question on installation

ok i get the message ./Themes/default/index.template.php     Test failed /before i install .I have read all the posts and the docs and everything else.But my question is if i install anyway and ignore the error what happens?Does my forum crash or do i miss what on the forum.Does it work and i have to install the code manually.Mostly i am worried about the forum crashing.Please help.

Hi, Please search for the last part of the error you have, you will find this has been answered many times.
If you get no results, try the full error.. only 1 line though.

You will need to manually edit some files following the Manual Installation Guide in the Docs.

no i understand you didn't say that , all i am asking is i understand the manual editing of the php i know that. i just want to know if i installed through smf with the error will it 1).crash or 2).works with the error or 3).works but i have to do the manually editing of the index.template.php file to see the mod work.  :laugh: See i had this error once before with an arcade mod for smf and got the same error, granted i installed afterwards in fear . But it worked only causing double php scripts ect which i had to manually delete but it worked getting what i am saying .please let me know thanks .Also i did all the searching in doc's and other posts but really i see that I'm posting you for help anyway even thou many people seem to have this major issue.

It won't work, or is very unlikely to.

Hey ZTN i just wanted to let you know it worked  :up: .lol i closed my eyes and it worked even with the error the core looks great very nice. :laugh:Thanks

Good stuff, I suggest you take a look in the error logs, clear them all, click a few buttons, then go back and check the logs again.

No Everything works perfect  ,strange like i said i had the same issue with the arcade and it did the same thing installed with the error with no problem or crashing  :up: .I am wondering if the index error in the template maybe a false error where if all else passes with preinstallation it will work and install with no problem . or im lucky  lol! Na but over all very nice add on to my forum and thanks again ZTN for your help .Hopefully this will help someone else with this issue. :up:
