Homepage: Widen articles?

I have this problem:
I'm using left block and articles at the center. But I'm not using right blocks, and the center space (for articles) is reserving space for the right block.

For my current resolution 1280X1024 it looks fine, but for other resolutions (800X600) it looks quite unconfortable, the center articles are too small.

Turn off the option to use the right panel

How weird, look at my site, even with that option turned off I get the same result.
