Hello all, I am new at making ( trying) a website . I found out about Tinyportal today and i must say it looks great and the themes are awesome.
Now, Tinyportal and SMF are installed and seems to work fine and now i want to use (if it's ok) the black22 theme for my website and for the forum. I allready found and downloaded the zipfiles but now im not sure what to do.
Should i install the forum theme first or the website theme?
What is the best and easiest way to do it?

Sorry if my english isn't that good,im just a guy from belgium  :)

Greetings, whoesa

Make sure the themes are TP compliant and then install them using the theme manager in the admin section of SMF! TP will also be chanfged to reflect the new theme!

IchBin

In other words, you only need one theme. When you install the theme as pcorn54 suggested, it will take effect on TinyPortal AND SMF. :) Just want to make sure we're clear about that.

I have some problems with SMF and TinyPortal. What is the best version off SMF and TP to install if
i wanna use the black22 theme for site and forum because my host tells me that they seem to have problems with the installation.
I think i am in real problems now because i can't do it myself. Now i have nothing installed anymore.
Can somebody help me with that or tell me what to do?

Hello again, my host company has managed and installed TP 0.75 with SMF 1.1RC1. Then i uploaded the file TP_black22_11rc1. Now i having some poblems i think:
-  When somebody visit the site they only see the login board. Is that normal? If not, what can i do about?
- I checked Forum Error Log and i get 2 pages with errors like:

The "home" page needs to be configured in "TPAdmin", you get to choose if you want these from "Front Page Settings":

What to show on frontpage:
   Only forum
Both forum and articles - sorted on date
   Only articles
   Single page
   Frontpage Blocks

TinyPortal - General Settings -- choose if you want
Right side blocks
Left side blocks
Center blocks

whoesa

ok thank you

i will try somethings out  :)

Ok thank you very much borgBOB, that wasn't that hard  :)  (can't believe i say that after one day)

I would like to ask something else if i can: Is it possible to have (block or module, not sure what it's called) a small calender and something to putt links in ,to other sites?
Can i upload those things somewhere and how do i get them on my site?

Greetings, whoesa

IchBin

You can create block by going into tpadmin and clicking edit blocks. Then you go to the right/left/center block to add one. Click on the add block button. It will then reload the page and show you the block in the list. Then you need to choose what kind of Block you would like to have. To add the calendar you'll need to add a phpbox as the block type. Then edit that block and add the code into it that is posted on this page.

To add a links Block you can just create another block. This time choose html as the block type. Then all you have to do is add your links as html when you edit the block. If you need help with the html post back with the links you want and we'll make them for you. :)

borgBOB

Use a block for these features. Just follow the directions in each thread, copying the code in the posts for the way you want.

Links Block:

Calendar Block:

That should work.
