Has anyone ever done this?

I have been threatening to do a school reunion site for a few years now. Originally it was going to be done in drupal with an smf forum back end. Then I got to thinking... Why not use TP and SMF exclusively?

All these pay-for sites are nice (classmates for example), but you can't really do squat with them unless you pay them communication ransom money.

So, has anyone ever done a school (not just one graduating year) site using this combo. If so might I see it and possible get an explanation on what you used to put it together with?

Thanks!

Ken.

I've not seen a forum site dedicated to that but a Google of your term "school reunion site" generated  2,340,000 hits so there must be some out there. Didn't read through the hits to see if any actual free forums are there.

Couldn't hurt to try and do one if you have the time and space to do so, it's a popular thing to do as evidenced by the fact that Class Mates seems to do OK.

I just want to do it for my school. Have you ever tried to navigate classmates. It bombastic at best.

I think you hit on something using google to check it out.

However if anyone has done this, please share.  8)
