I had a forum running at 1.0.rc2 (I think).  Went through the SMF update with no problems. I installed the referrals package with all working fine.

Changed to the default theme to install TP. WOOPS, I didn't see that brick wall.

Multiple tries, looking through the forums etc, etc. File permissions all set right.  Still getting the
QuoteThe package you tried to upload either is not a valid package or has become corrupted.
Yes, I tried downloading again.

Am I stuck with manual update?  If so when will the manual update instructions be updated for latest and greatest?

Ah be a feelin kinda stupid along bout now.  :uglystupid2:

Problem resolved.  It dawned on me the problem with TP install on C-panel installed SMF soooooo.

1. Dumped  db
2. Deleted db
3. Create db
4. Upload and install SMF 1.1.4
5. Import data from the dump
6. Do the TP package install

7. Now happy camper  8)

Thanks. Was nervous but...
There is one more part of the saga.  As of yesterday morning the forum was version 1.0 RC2.  That upgrade was easy.  My complements to the people who wrote the upgrader.
