Front page blocks don't show with custom user group! help!

Okay, I am at wits end here. I setup a usergroup to have access just like regular members, except they have access to some special forums. When I put a user in this group, they can't see the frontpage blocks at all. The center, left, and right blocks do not show, just the news/articles. I  have gone through every option I can think of, but no luck. Any help with this or a phrase I can search for on the forums? thanks!

This have been posted about 400 times the past 6 months alone

You have to edit every block you have created and check the catbox for the new membergroup.

Likewise check your downloads categories too, as they will need to be granted permissions. (just something i had to learn the hard way!)
