Confused and Baffled! Please help

Hello,

Been running smf 1.05 since October or so.. Came across Helios first which i fell in love with so checked on this site the other day and ran into TP! Oh my! If this goes final for sale i will no doubt purchase and tell others. But anyways... Figured out how to install it and use the Helios TP theme too!!

Took me a bit but i got it down well somewhat..

Now the question is putting in a logo into the upper right corner... Which file do i edit to do this...

Be-warned no knowledge of PHP just basic html... Should i use dreamweaver mx to do this... totally lost and confused.. right now it looks great but iam missing a nice logo for myself at the top.

Its a Everquest II fan site btw... take a look and maybe someone can help me..

Actually, I am not sure you have to edit any files. I took a quick peek at the code, and from the looks of it, all you need to do is to go into Admin, then go to Current Theme (or the equivalent in 1.05), and then just put in the url of the logo image you want to use (which should be on your website someplace).

Like I said, I am just guessing here, but it looks like if you put the url of your logo image in the settings page for the current theme, then it should put it in the website where you are wanting it to go (I am presuming in the box with the user info at the top, just under the color change section).

I don't have 1.05 installed, so this is kinda rough....

Go into SMF's Admin section.

Look for the section about Themes

There should be a place for you to put in the URL for your site's logo.

Put the URL in there, save it, and see if it shows up where you are wanting it to show.

Sorry when it comes down to this stuff iam a php/apache idiot! So iam like um hmm what does he mean.... i dont want to loose this nice helios tp theme either!

Do you put it in the TopBar box? so it goes above the top part???
If so what do i put in the logo box there...

Okay, I just downloaded and installed a copy of 1.0.5 and have just discovered that the entry that I am telling you to look for isn't there. There is apparently no field that you would enter the forum logo URL into -- unless perhaps there is one in tiny portal settings, or one in the settings for the theme itself.

But where does it point to as far as a directory?

It shows you an example right by it. I don't have the theme installed right now because I just reinstalled my beta testing site. But I think if you look at the "Current Theme" Settings where it gives you the logobox. There is an example right above/below the box that tells you how to enter in the URL to the file.

I just gotta edit my logo so its not so big!

Looks nice! One thing though....it looks like you're using the 1.1 RC1 version of the helios theme instead of the 1.0.5 version.
