Hi all,

I was up site based on SMF+TP for my strikeball (airsoft) command (http://lynx-cmd.dyndns.org russian, sorry ;)) and during research SMF and TP functionality I don't found any way to display articles list/index. For example: goto page 'index.php?action=articles' and now we can see list like:
Category 1 (5 articles)
Category 2 (2 articles)

or:
* Category 1
   * Article 1
   * Article 2
      ...more articles in category

* Category 2
   * Article 1
   * Article 2
      ...more articles in category

It functionality is present? or alredy exist any mod for TP that implement this functionality?

At this time there is no such unction that give you child categories within articles.
Bloc is however working on it and if we are lucky, it can be built in the next release of TP.

G6, oh... we will wait next release. I try to analyse code of SMF.... It is not very clean for understanding :(

Also, currently I use link '?cat=1' for access to articles. But it is not very comfortable.

I will probably add a function that will display articles like that..like a  sitemap almost. It can be then called, like the SSI functions, for easy use in a block or php article.

But as G6 mentions, child categories for articles are really needed.

Bloc, In any case, I think that dedicated page for articles is needed (like FrontPage, Forum or Calendar). Also, I think that good idea use categories for article as tag, so we can create some amount of categories and when we wrote article that can be assigned more than one category we select two (or more) tags (category) for it.

Articles very need for me, and I think that I will work on implementing new functionality. and provide results if it will be good ;)

I agree with this fellow.  I would like to have articles made easier to list and edit so my users can post reviews of games and movies.  I can make my own table of contents and a button to link to it, but it is far too complicated for the laymen that are my moderators and staff.  Also, I can't seem to get rid of the center block in articles, but that's another can of worms.

I like that there are ratings and comments.
