I have installed SMF 1.1.3 with TP 0.9.8 and I seem to be missing a number of links and buttons etc.

Especially in admin mode.

For example, I have no button/link to direct people directly to the forum. While i can fudge my way to the forum, a lot of people who will be using it will not be able to.

I want to set up the front page and ad various articles and categories but the TP Tools box in admin is blank.

Also, some of the descriptors are missing in the set up fields. The drop down boxes are there with options included but there is no descriptor to say what the option is.

Have I missed something. The install was all good.

I have tried to change themes but it has no effect.

Would be keen for some help. I have a member log in for people to have a look. Please PM me if you can help and we can discuss how I can fix the issue.

Cheers

Ken.

Just looked at your forum and TinyPortal appears to have not installed correctly.

Try a manual install to see if that will correct the missing functions.

Ken, it is installed correctly.. that happens when the language character set is wrong.
The link nokonium posted will resolve it.

It is incredible that something so simple can cause such a massive headache. This software rocks

It's been posted time and again.. but it's easy to get a headache about it if you don't know what it is. :)
