Hello all. Fairly new TP user here so sorry if this is a really dumb question.

I would like to create a page that consists of nothing but Center Blocks that are all RSS Feeds.

I do not want this page as my front page or to show with my forum. Is there a way I can load up a bunch of center blocks on their own page?

Zetan

Yes.. and if my forum wasn't down I'd show you how I've done mine.
I'll explain it.

Create an Introductory Article.
Say something in it like.. "Welcome to our RSS Live News Feeds".

Create center RSS blocks and set them to display only in the RSS Feed Intro Article.
You can do this in the Block settings for each block.

Works great on my site.

propyl

Thank you Zetan. Sounds easy enough.

Then I would just need to modify a button in my index template to point to that particular article I would assume?

Zetan

No.. you don't need to touch the index.template.php file.

Create the Article
Create the Blocks.

Note the URL of the Article from the address bar in your browser.. it will look like:

/index.php?page=1

You can link directly to any Article pages and put the links in a menu.
You can also strip down the URL to just:

?page=1

which would only work on your site for Internal links.
External links require the Full URL for use on other sites.

propyl

Gotcha, Thanks. I got it working  :)

see you can train monkey's after all.  :D

Zetan

Great  :) .. I hope it works as well for you as it does for us.. I have about 6-8 feeds in a page at the mo.. Pity my host has been giving me a headache the last 2 days  >:(

Zetan

lol.. I just realised what you were asking with the index file.. create a button to link to it.. Yes, you can do that too.
* Zetan slaps head

propyl

lol no worries. Yes I made a button titled Feeds for my main toolbar in my theme. However, I am glad you mentioned the menu suggestion, i have already found some uses for that.

One last thing, how do you set the article to list above the center blocks, or can you?

Zetan

The blocks should sit below.. I can't check or test anything right now as I'm having talks with my host to resolve the problem on my site, which is still offline.
My article is at the top, the blocks below and the Article edit button is at the very bottom below all the blocks.

propyl

hum.. interesting. I wonder where thats hidden  :-\ looks like i'll go fishin some more.
