ok I hope this is a right section and I know this is a newbie question but here goes:

for my tiny portal I want to create a new page/link for a Affiliates section for my site, I see that TP dosnt use html pages to make this so I was wondering how could I make a blank page where I can type info on it and keep all the blocks etc?

That is what articles are for I suppose. Have you tried it with an article?

What I do is create a page in Dreamweaver, designing it with the layout however I so desire. Once I get that page FTP'd to my server, I create an PHP article that links to the page by using the 'include' statement.

While I could do the same code in a TP article, I prefer to work in DW (since I have other tasks in there as well) making changes and applying code elements easily. I only use one theme, so I attach the CSS style to my PHP code and it renders it in DW as it will in SMF/TP.

I think the only caveat is that the search function won't check the included page, as opposed to having the article indexed...  however, I have a copy of my pages on my local system as well as on the server, which can be backed up as a file versus a SQL query.
