Is there a way to have a block or article script that shows posts from one forum section? I'm trying to help another TP user get this done because he has 212 videos on YouTube that he' like on the front page. Possibly with an image next to the text for each video in the movie section. The front page option for showing forum entries will not work in this situation.

I know this may be a tough one and have searched these forums completely.

Thank you!

Instead of entering each movie into the forum section for spooling back onto the front page I copied the html code directly from YouTube for all 200 movies and placed that in articles. There seems to be a limit to the number of characters you can have in an article so had to create multiple articles to fit movies.

Not what I was looking for but I'll take it until I can code, or until the rss mod is fixed so I can spool the data from the forums that way. For now I am happy doing these articles and separate forum entries.

Waiting on some themes that work with 1.1.3 and I'll be cool for a while.

Have a good day, Ken.

Looks and works good, but it sure sounds like a lot of work to do it that way!  :)

That's true, Ken,

This guy makes a lot of movies and getting the new movies in the article will be fun... NOT! I figured a movie per forum thread in the movie section would look ok spooling them to the front page via the front page options, but no dice. This way I am done, in a way, and it looks better and takes less space than the "show forum posts on front page" option with layout option "b" selected. Even making eack post conform to the max allowed number of characters per forum post brought to home page, the posts would not line up nicely. I dunno why.

Now I just have to make every thumb nail image open a new page instead of opening in _self, and maybe make thumbs smaller, but will still have to spread out over 5 pages or more to comply with the max article character limits. Anyone know how many characters you can place in an article? And if this is adjustable, where is the place to do it?

Thank. Have a good day, Ken.

You'll need to change the body column to be a longtext instead of text. Text is limited to 65,000 bytes. A longtext field can handle over 4 million or something like that...

This is changed in TP 1.0

For now you'll have to edit your database to reflect that change.
