Download Manger > FTP > 500 Error

I am getting a 500 Internal Server Error Message whenever I attempt to access the 'FTP' menu of the Download Manager.

From what I understand, 'FTP' in Download Manager menu allows you to select FTP'd uploads and assign them to a catagory? When I click the link for 'FTP' it directs me to index.php?action=tpmod;dl=adminftp


Heres the message from my logs:

Heres the message from my browser:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Possibly terrorists are hijacking your server. Quick, call the Better Business Bureau and file a claim!!!

You likely have wrong folder/file permissions set.

at least read and write for owner if I understand your problem correctly.

I modified my original post to be more precise... was there a specific file or folder which should have these permissions? Aren't file permissions set automatically?

They are set in the initial install of TP. But if they aren't set, or get messed up you can end up with these problems. What are the permissions on your tp-downloads folder?

Check to make sure the "tp-downloads" directory exists in the forum's root directory. This folder should have its permissions assigned as 755.

It's there and it has those permissions... i uploaded some files into it but I was recieving these errors before I touched it.

I suppose you are using the latest version of SMF and TP?
