Tinyportal Conversion

Alright, just one or two quick responses here should do the trick.

We currently use SMF 1.1.2 over at www.ps3hax.net. I have decided to integrate tinyportal in with our forums so I have created portal.ps3hax.net to develop it. I currently have a fresh copy of SMF and TP installed on the 'portal' subdomain.

Heres my question:

When the portal is finished being created, I am planning on importing our current database into the new installation of TP and SMF... will this cause me to loose my article's / settings for TP or are they stored in a different database?

TP stores them in the same DB as SMF. However, if you're import doesn't have these tables already, you should be fine. But of course, make a backup before doing anything.

Thanks. Thats what I thought but I just wanted to make sure.

I always make backups and check everything on a dev. domain anyway, I would recommend everyone else does the same...

PS. I did notice that you we're atleast viewing this page for a good ammount of time and I appreciate your fast and thorough response!

I figured you had traveled to a different website, but that sounds right. I will post our site in the showcase as well! I've worked hard the past two days to get the portal installed and configured, I'm almost to the point where I start creating content.

On a side note: I think TinyPortal is great! Not only is it the best CMS for SMF, it's integration and interface surpasses those of dedicated CMS scripts.

I am looking forward to working with TinyPortal in the future...
