I have installed smf 1.1.2 (fresh new install). I uploaded tp via the manager, clicked apply etc., it does not show any error. In click install, it takes 3-4 minutes and it comes back with a message that it is installed and that I have to restart the forum to see the changes.
I do that, but jut the forum appears, nothing to see from TP.
So I go into the packages again, tp is there, but not as installed.
So I click again apply, and the same story again...

I use TP 0.983 with SMF 1.1.2 on a Windows PC.
I have 3 other forum with TP hosted, all use 0.97 nd all work fine.

Do you have your permissions set right?   Go to packages options,  make all files writable.   After the install you can change them back to what you want.

It ask me for ftp information... I do not need ftp, in fact, I do not have an ftp server installed. I host it myself, the server is beside me...
Its a windows pc, no file is "read-only".
I just did a test and installed 0.97, no problem. So I deleted everything, installed again smf 1.1.2, and 0.98 just wont appear.
It did not add anything to index.php and other files... but why...?

I have figured it out! I had to set the max execution time for php on my server to 5 minutes, and it installed fine. No white pages, no errors, just fine.
This might help other people who get white pages after installed. Its just that the php take too long and it through a time out.

Hi,
Don't like to opet a new post when possibly someone can help me here?
Every time i try to install TP via smf manager it comes up with "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" even tho it has no errors prior, the only problem I noticed that I can not change in Options to All files are writable??why would that be??
Ps
I have placed a forum into default mode but only problem that i can think of is this "writable"??
Every time I try to change to writable same thing happens as when i try to install TP. Page goes blank with Internet explorer cannot display??
Please help me.

can you go in via a ftp client and change the permissions that way.

Crip

Admin -> Packages -> Options -> Make All files Writeble -> Change Permissions -> Proceed..alll files then are writeable..

It shouldn't take that long. If its timing out I wonder if something else isn't wrong in your server configuration. Glad you got it working though.
