Database Error: Can't open file: 'smf_messages.MYI' (errno: 145)

Hello all,

I get a few times this error:

Database Error: Can't open file: 'smf_messages.MYI' (errno: 145)
File: /var/www/vhosts/mysite.com/httpdocs/Sources/TPortal.php
Line: 1629

If I repair the database the error is fixed and the problem is solved, but before the error is fixed, the site is down, really down.  On the main page there is printed, there is a database error please report this error to a administrator.

There is a other problem in the neigberhood always of this problem:

Can someone help me with this problem ?

You have to update your TP version to the latest, that error was generated in the TP V.097 and is fixed in TP V.098
I think your DB error will be fixed at the same time you upgrade the DB during the install of v0983

The can't open file error is a database issue. Something you should probably look into at SMF. But follow what G6 said first before you head over there.

I have updated the tiny portal software but today.. again the same problem.  The thing is why is he making errors in the database ?

Quite don't understand it, and the errors are always in the table: smf_messages.MYI.

The whole site is down and it is a day before I see it.  My users does'nt trust the site that way..  It's really a pain in the ass that database error

Is there a solutions like disabling the private messages ?  Or what is the purpose of that particular table ?

I can program a bit, so if someone can say me wich file is causing the problem ?  I have updated to version 0983

What you have to do now is to download the BIG upgrade package from SMF for 1.1.2
Extract the package on your local PC and take the upgrade.php and the two .sql files from it and upload them to your forum root folder (where you have the actuall forum installd)
Then point the browser to the upgrade.php file and let it update the SMF database tables.

Yes, but do the update for the DB anyway like i described.
If that doesent work you have to seek help on SMF as the table the error generats to not found is a SMF issue and not a TP issue.

I have done the update like asked, for now no problems anny more..
