No, you must have that file there or nothing will work

No you do not delete the file.  YOu need to download the file to your desktop and use a editor to add the edits as the instructions say in the docs section.  Then you will upload the file back up to your site and overwrite the one that is there.  MAKE SURE YOU BACK THE FILE UP FIRST>

Well no just deleting the package will not fix your problem.  The files that were edited will still be edited.  Its really not that hard to do what we are trying to help you with.  I would not give up just yet.  TP is a great addition to a forum.  We will help you until you get it.
