I have a site that the images are being hotlinked from. Is there anyone here that can give me the code for a .htaccess file that will redirect them to Google if they try to access the photos directory directly? Its really eating my bandwidth.

I'll play with the mod_rewrite thing and see if I can it to work. Ideally, I'd like to kick them off the site ifthey are trying toaccess the directorty the images are stored in, but allow access to other pages with the site (if that makes sense).

You know what you could do, providing that you hide the origonal pics from your usual people.......substitute them for , lets say something rather NASTY


A friend of mine had some pics hotlinked, so he changed them to pron pics ....it soon stopped lol

I would like to go a bit futher than that. Will PM you the URL. I wouldnt use that exact one, but similar, and just hope they were it an office at the time they try to use them.

I did that once on my site. I replaced the image with a big F U THIEF! in big red letters.
