I can't get UTF characters to display. I've tried everything. I downloaded the TP_V0983_utf-8 and placed it in each theme. I have server settings to english-UTF, but the characters come out as ?? This is really weird because when I do a test post, and preview it, it displays perfectly, but when I actually post it, they come out as ?? again. Any ideas?

PS - I can't get the custom smiley packs to work either. I uploaded them to all the smiley folders, and set Enable customized smileys, but all that displays is the classic, or default.
I had everything working fine on My old forum, but now I can't get this stuff to work  :'(

the language files shoul be named like this

yourfilename.english-utf8.php and not yourfilename.english_utf_8.php

Check the other files and see how they are named, and copy that to your files.

For the smileys you have simplemachines.org to guide you the way through.

The files I uploaded to the languages folder are:

TPhelp.english-utf8.php
TPmodules.english-utf8.php
TPortal.english-utf8.php
TPortalAdmin.english-utf8.php

But it's not working...

The only thing I see in maintenance is Convert HTML-entities to UTF-8 characters. I applied that, and it's still not working...

PHP version     4.4.4
MySQL version    4.1.21-standard

I just did another install of SMF 1.1.2 into a dif folder. I tested the UTF characters, and they worked fine. Then I installed TP, and they went bluey again  :tickedoff: I don't get it. The UTF characters work fine here, and this IS TP.
